The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met today with the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas.
Mr. Moedas, addressing the Prime Minister, stated that the Commission recognizes that the Greek government has established as a priority, research and innovation and the effort made to close the gap concerning innovation which separated Greece from the European average.
During the meeting the importance of European investment in innovative entrepreneurship and the economy of knowledge as a necessary route for the reconstruction of production of Greece was highlighted as well as the preservation of competitiveness of Europe at a global level. In this direction, it was agreed that it is necessary not to reduce the EU budget for research and innovation.
