Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, had a telephone conversation with the Turkish Prime Minister, Binali Yıldırım, responding to the request of the Turkish side.
The Prime Minister strongly pointed out to his Turkish counterpart that events such as yesterday in the Imia region directly undermine Greek-Turkish and Euro-Turkish relations and, also, violate international law.
He underlined the need to immediately put an end to the growing provocative Turkish violations in the territorial waters and the airspace of Greek islands in the Aegean and the need to de-escalate the tension.
Finally, it was agreed to intensify talks on Confidence Building Measures.
