The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras.
During their conversation, Mr. Juncker expressed the solidarity of the Commission with Greece and stressed its intention to provide the necessary resources to address the emergency situation caused by the fires.
Also, the Prime Minister had successive telephone conversations with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, of Portugal, António Costa , and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borissov. They expressed their solidarity with the Greek people for the devastating fires and informed the Prime Minister of their intention to offer their assistance to Greece.
