Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today, in Prague, with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denys Shmyhal, shortly before the start of the first meeting of the European Political Community.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated that Greece supports the struggle of the Ukrainians and the efforts to safeguard the territorial integrity and freedom of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister once again pointed out that Greece explicitly condemns Russia’s illegal annexation of four regions of Ukraine. He noted that our country recognizes these areas as part of Ukrainian territory and will never accept any change in their status, in flagrant violation of International Law.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the determination of our country to stand, together with its European partners, by the side of Ukraine.

He also informed his Ukrainian counterpart about Greece’s firm positions against revisionism and the questioning of International Treaties and asked Mr. Shmyhal for alignment with the EU’s positions on Turkey.
