Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the President of the United States Joe Biden.
The President of the United States congratulated the Prime Minister on his election victory and stressed that he looks forward to even closer cooperation with the new Greek government.
The two leaders confirmed the close ties between the two countries, as well as their willingness to strengthen and deepen the excellent Greek-US cooperation, especially in the fields of defence and energy.
During their conversation, they highlighted the importance of the strategic cooperation between Greece and the US for the stability and security in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.
Joe Biden thanked Greece for supporting Ukraine from the very beginning and for its role as a reliable partner and ally in the region.
