Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ participation in the EPP’s extraordinary teleconference on developments in the Middle East

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in the extraordinary teleconference of the leaders of the European People’s Party concerning the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Prime Minister reiterated his support for Israel and the right to self-defence. He also pointed out that the rules of engagement of an organized state should not be equated with those of a terrorist organization and underlined the need to avoid a humanitarian crisis.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the need for Europe to speak with a unified voice on a crucial issue of regional and European security.

The teleconference was attended by Tasos Chatzivasileiou, MP of Serres and International Secretary of New Democracy party and Aristotelia Peloni, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Global Affairs and Strategic Communications.
