As you know, Greece has become an official member of the Τhree Seas Ιnitiative since last year. It’s the first opportunity to represent my country at this important gathering, which is taking place at a time of significant geopolitical turmoil in Europe.
Greece can significantly contribute to the Three Seas Ιnitiative by opening up the southern route of connectivity, whether this involves rail and road connectivity or whether it involves energy, as we can become the natural entry point for energy, whether that is natural gas or renewable energy, from the south to the north.
And if one were to think in terms of true geography, the fact that Greece is now a member of the Three Seas Initiative would even justify naming the Three Seas Initiative a Four Seas Initiative, as it opens up the southern corridor towards the Aegean Sea.
I’m looking very much forward to the interesting discussions we will have at today’s gathering. Thank you.
