Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met, at Maximos Mansion, with António Costa, who is visiting Greece as part of his tour of all European capitals in view of his assumption of office as President of the European Council on 1 December.
At the beginning of the meeting, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and António Costa had the following dialogue:
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: So good to welcome you, dear António, and I just want to wish you all the best for the upcoming job. We’ve known each other during our time at the European Council. You’re beginning your tenure with the full support of the Council members because we consider you one of us. So again, all the best.
António Costa: Thank you Kyriakos, thank you for your support. I count on your support during these 2.5 years. We are living very challenging times and we need to stick together. We count on you.
