Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ meeting with senior executives of European chemical industries

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with senior executives of large and small and medium-sized European chemical companies, who are in Greece for the industry’s conference, which is being held in Athens.

During the discussion, they examined solutions to boost the competitiveness of the European chemical industry, with an emphasis on energy costs, and the need to find the optimal balance between the robustness of the European economy and an effective green transition.

It was highlighted that Europe should remain neutral on the emergence of new technologies in the field of clean energy, which could make a substantial contribution to reducing emissions, if given the chance to mature.

The importance of maintaining highly skilled jobs in Europe and ways to better link vocational and technical education with the needs of the sector were also stressed.

The executives of the chemical industries praised the high growth rates that Greece has achieved in recent years and the ability of our country to attract a large number of investments from abroad.
